I've been trying to locate Brenda Claffey (maiden name).   She is the daughter of  Tom and Irene Claffey of Hull,  Mass.  She has two younger brothers.  They moved to Dunedin, FL back in 1975-76 and Brenda and I became best Friends while they lived in Dunedin, but they moved back to Hull.
She would be around 35 years old.  I believe her birthday is Nov. 24th.  If she has an e-mail address would you please contact her and let her know that Mary Lichtenberg (maiden name) is waiting to hear from her. Thank you, Mary Paroline

Seeking information on Mary Claffy married to Hugh Fox  Mary was my gt, gt, gt, grandmother.  Her daughter Anne Fox was born 1824!  died 1894, Dundee Scotland. There is a John Claffy, wife Mary and family in the Dundee census for 1881 their place of birth is given as Kings County as is that of their first child William, born 1865.  Those of us in the Dundee Angus area have traced quite a lot of our Irish ancestors back to County Cavan.  The names that crop up time and again are Fox, Dunn, Farrell, Powell/Pole.  Would be grateful for any news.
Anyone seeking help this end,  will try to assist.  Celia Mccartney

My name is Ken Claffey and I am interested in tracking my family tree.
My great grandfather Michael and his wife Catherine (Murphy) moved to the U.S. in the mid 1800's. They came with one child and had one on the ship.  These two were Jim and Mary. I do not know which was born on the ship.  They had two more children in the U.S. John (my grandfather) and Joseph. My
grandfather was born in 1869. They lived in Pennsylvania and my great grandfather worked in the coal mines. My grandfather moved to Hawley Minnesota and married Nellie Narveson in 1892. They then moved to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1905 when my Dad was 2 months old. If anyone out there has information about this family please: Contact me at    [email protected]

    Ann Claffee's answer to Ken
Ken:  Georgina Claffey of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada sent the  following info in June of 1998 to the Claffey Connections site (which is no longer active):
"Nellie Claffey, the daughter of John Claffey and Nellie Caroline Narveson, passed along some family history that was published in a history book put out by the Community of Hardy on the early settlers of Hardy, Sakatchewan.
"John Claffey was born on Easter Sunday, March 28th, 1869 in Schendaken, New York.  At the death of his father, he is a very young boy with his mother, one sister Mary, and two brothers, Jim and Joe, and they move to Hawley, Minnesota where they lived for awhile with the grandparents Murphy".
"The story goes on to tell that John was educated in Hawley and married Nellie Narveson in 1892.  He came to Saskatchewan in 1905 where he worked as a blacksmith in Yellow Grass.  In 1912 he took a homestead in the Hardy district.  14 children were born-8 in Minnesota (7surviving) and 6 in
Sakatchewan.  Of these, 9 are still living with upwards of 200 descendants, mostly in Western Canada."   Anne Claffee e mail
