Dear Cox Cousins,

The purpose of this e-mail is twofold. One to update our e-mail list, but primarily to give you a report on what may have been our finest reunion to date.

Attendance was down from recent years, but the fellowship and delight we shared was incredibly rich.

Every year we have new cousins attend and it is great to watch the surprise and sometimes, awe as they discover that they are a member of such an interesting and caring family.

For those who were unable to attend, it would have been worth whatever effort it would have taken just to see the joy on Sandra Cox Hamlin’s face as Lawrence Cox told her story after story about a part of her family that she had left behind in Bell County over 50 years ago.

I encourage you to make plans to attend our 2007 reunion in Lampasas, Texas May 18-21. Our headquarters hotel will once again be the Holiday Inn Express.

I also encourage you to consider supporting our tax exempt organization, Brandywine Crucible Inc. We have an aggressive DNA program this year, which is necessary to sort out the exact relationships of our very complex family. In addition, the Lampasas County Historical Commission has approved our application to designate the Long Meadows/Cox cemetery as a Historic Texas Cemetery. You can support these efforts financially by clicking on the “Join Us” tab on our website at

Thanks to all those who were able to be with us in 2006 and we hope to see you and many others in 2007.

Les Sutton, Secretary Brandywine Crucible, Inc
