Water Wheel

Brandywine family,

After not meeting in 2020, being victimized by the pandemic, we had a good annual meeting and reunion in Lampasas, TX, during 4-6 June 2021.  Attendance was down somewhat due to family health issues, flooding in Central and South Central Texas, and the lingering effects of the coronavirus.  But we had a number of people there for the first time, including a couple from California, a couple from Arizona, and three new attendees from Oklahoma.  We had good speakers.  On a somber note, long time board members Ada

Cox Stump and Linda Cox Atkins asked to step down from your Board of Directors.  Ada and Linda helped found Brandywine and were on the original Board of Directors.  Both had served as active Board members in a number of capacities, in addition to the usual Board duties of discussing, suggesting and advising, and voting.  Ada had served as treasurer for a number of years and had been an active member of the Archves and Publications Committee; Linda had served as newsletter editor and later as treasuer.  Both had helped plan the annual meetings and reunions for many years.  They will be missed from the Board, although we expect to see them with family members at our reunions. We are fortunate to have Debbie Brewer Cox from Goodrich, TX, and Connie L Birth from Spencer, OK, succeed them on the Board. In other transitions of responsibilities, Joeen Sutton is our new treasurer, succeeding Ada, and Nancy Cox Borum succeeds Debbie Brewer Cox as newsletter editor.  Debbie has done a great job with the newsletter for a number of years, but her other Brandywine job of family history data base manager and increasing responsibility for elderly and ailing family members leave insufficient time for the newsletter.  Their contact information can be found with the other officers. Joeen and husband VP Gary Sutton are in the process of moving our bank account from Fidelity Bank of Oklahoma City to a Wells-Fargo branch in San Angelo, TX.  It sometimes seems that nothing is easy these days, but it appears that Joeen and Gary are about to get this done.  We will let you know as soon as the job has been completed.  Once the new bank account has been established, we will complete the agreement with PayPal. As with the bank account, we will notify you when PayPal is available. It's not too early to make reservations at the Best Western Plus in Lampasas, TX, for our 2022 annual meeting and reunion scheduled for

3-5 June.

Finally, we again solicit your dues and contritutions to finance our programs. There is no distinction in membership related to the various suggested dues amounts.  We are grateful for any amount.  As we have pointed out previously, you are warmly welcome at our annual meeting and reunion whether you pay Brandywine dues or not.  And we will gladly provide you with our newsletter and other communications.  But Brandywine, of course, does need some measure of financial support.  If you can and desire to provide it, send you checks to new treasurer Joeen, or you can wait until we notify you that our PayPay account is available, which should be soon.

We will keep you informed through our website, newsletter, Facebook account, yellow/blue card mailings, and by email. Of course, you will receive the same reunion registration form and schedule by U.S. mail.

We have a great family.
