Source: RASMUSSEN, LOUIS J. San Francisco Ship Passenger Lists. Volume 1. Colma, California: Louis J. Rasmussen, 1965. Reprint. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1978.

Annotation: Covers 1850-1864, but mostly the year 1850. Names of passengers arriving through the port of the San Francisco in mid-nineteenth century. San Francisco was the main port of entry in settlement of the West, and it is probable that many immigrants had already landed at New York and then taken ship to San Francisco, particularly in the Gold Rush days. Passengers came from all over the world, and vessels often called in other ports en route, embarking extra passengers. San Francisco ship passenger lists were formerly printed in the San Francisco Genealogical Bulletin (later San Francisco Historic Record and Genealogy Bulletin), 1963-1965. See nos. 7875-7891.
