Daniel Blaney and Johanna Evoy

Daniel2 Blaney (Patrick1, DanielA) was born c. 1834 in St-Gilles, Lotbinière Co. Québec, the son of Patrick Blaney and Mary Langan. [1] The 1901 census gives his birth date as 20 January 1834, but many of the dates for other household members are incorrect in this census. [2] This one likely is as well as his father did not purchase land in St-Gilles until August of 1834. [3] Daniel died in 1911 at the age of 77 and is buried in St-Narcisse. [4]

Daniel married Johanna M. Evoy, born on 7 January 1843 in Québec. [5]She died in 1933 at the age of 90 and is also buried in St-Narcisse. [6]

Daniel Blaney and Johanna M. Evoy had the following children:

i. Ann Blaney was in born in St-Gilles 14 November 1862 and was baptized the next day. Her grandfather Patrick Blaney and aunt Bridget Blaney were the godparents. [7] Ann died in St-Gilles 12 days later on 16 November. [8]
ii. Patrick Blaney was born 27 December 1863 in St-Gilles. He was baptized the same day; aunt Margaret Blaney was a sponsor. [9] Patrick died at the age of 14 days on 10 January 1864. [10]
iii. John Blaney was born in St-Gilles 18 December 1864. He was baptized the next day; uncle John Blaney was the godfather. [11]
iv. Mary Catherine Blaney was born in St-Gilles 20 March 1867. She was baptized 7 days later; her aunt Bridget Blaney and her husband Alexis Gagné were the sponsors. [12] Catherine drowned accidently at 8 years of age on 26 June 1875 in St-Narcisse. [13]
+ v. Margaret Blaney was born in St-Gilles on 3 July 1869. She was baptized 3 days later. Her uncle, Daniel Blaney, and his wife Johanna Evoy were the godparents. [14]
+ vi. Joseph Daniel Blaney was born in Québec on 7 March 1872 and baptized in St-Patrice. [15]
vii. Patrick Henry Blaney was born in Québec on 6 March 1874. He was baptized two days later; his aunt, Margaret Blaney and her husband Michael Burns were the sponsors. [16] Henry died on 17 June 1876 in St-Narcisse when he was only one year old. [17]
+ viii. Phillipe Thomas Blaney was born in St-Narcisse on 16 June 1877. [18] He died in 1950 at the age of 73. [19]
+ ix. Mary Bridget Blaney was born 11 October 1879 in St-Narcisse. [20]
+ x. Mary Catherine Blaney was born in St-Narcisse 17 January 1883. [21]
