Thomas Blaney and Marcella Conlan

Thomas1 Blaney (DanielA)was born in Ireland c. 1796, the oldest of the known children of Daniel Blaney and Margaret Kilduff. [1] He apparently arrived in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec c. 1830 with his parents siblings, wife, and at least one child, Margaret, born in Ireland. The baptismal record for his daughter Bridget in Rivière-du-Loup lists his profession, like his brothers', as shoemaker. [2] By 1837 he had a farm in St-Gilles, Lotbinière County, where his daughter Elizabeth was baptized. [3] Thomas died at the age of 78 on 31 March 1875 in St-Sylvestre, Lotbinière Co., where he is also buried. [4]

He married Marcella Conlan before their emigration to Canada, as their first child was born in Ireland. [5] Marcella was born c. 1801, also in Ireland. [6] She died on 14 November 1885 in St.-Sylvestre.[7]

Thomas Blaney and Marcella Conlan had the following children:

4 iii. Bridget Blaney was born in Rivière-du-Loup on 30 April 1833. She was baptized on 1 May; her uncle Patrick Blaney and his wife Mary Langan were the sponsors. [10]
5 iv. Elizabeth Blaney was born in St-Gilles in January 1837. [11]
6 v. Mary Blaney was born in St-Sylvestre in September 1839. [12]
7 vi. Teresa Blaney was born in St-Sylvestre on 6 March 1842. [13]
+ 8 vii. Catherine Blaney was born in 19 January 1844. [14]
