Agnes Forbes and Samuel Jacob Wottring

Agnes3 Forbes (Margaret C.2 McDonald, Bridget1 Blaney, DanielA) was born in 1855 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Margaret McDonnell and Mr. Forbes. [1]

She married Samuel Jacob Wottring sometime between 1870 and 1880, when the two were enumerated together in Delaware, 5th Ward, Delaware Co. OH. He worked as a grain dealer and the family had also taken in two boarders. [2] Samuel was born in July 1854 in Ohio. [3] His parents were Charles Wottring and his wife Mary, both born in Pennsylvania. Known as Jacob as a child, as an adult he went by Samuel. [4] Agnes died in 1886, at the age of 31, and was buried in the Oak Grove cemetery in the city of Delaware. [5] In 1900 Samuel, a widower, and their son Artie were living in a boarding house. Samuel was by then working as a broom maker and Artie as an apprentice. [6] Samuel died on 1 July 1836 at the age of 82 and was buried with his wife and parents in Oak Grove Cemetery. [7]

Agnes Forbes and Samuel Wottring had the following children:

i. William Wottring was born in Ohio c. 1876. [8]
ii. Frederick Wottring was born c. 1878 in Ohio. [9]
iii. Arthur Lewis Wottring was born on 23 February 1880 in Ohio. [10]
