Martha had TB and immediately after her marriage to Kirby they left for Florida in hopes of a cure. She died on the train enroute to their destination and was returned to Winchester where her funeral was held at home and then the burial followed in Lexington.

Luella moved to Okla City Oct 1908 with her parents. She worked as a bookkeeper at various stores until her marriages to Ed. She & Ed lived their entire married life in the house that he purchased Nov. 1920 situated on a five acre tract in southeast Oklahoma City where they raised vegetables for market.
