The Case of Samuel Grove v. Administrator of Estate of Thomas Winters, Article by Deven Winders Lewis, co-administrator of the Winder DNA Project. Apparently in early 1805, Thomas Winders obtained a court order for payment of the outstanding balance of 4 pounds plus interest from Samuel Grove which had not been paid at Thomas' death.

Dr. Thomas Winders, a thirty-seven-year-old San Francisco physician who had grown up in Tombstone, had filed the action against the Copper Queen Company on behalf of the estates of his father, Robert Jackways Winders, and stepfather, Origen Charles Smith.
