AMES CLAIBORNE ANDERSON, SR:James emigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland, to Virginia in 1773, taking an oath of allegiance on his arrival at Philadelphia. He lived with his relatives in Tidewater Virginia until about 1780, then came to Washington County, Virginia.

Bridges and Esther his wife of County of Marion Tennessee on one part and Martin Hagey County of Washington, Virginia --for $162.00 current money of the US in hand sell a tract of land lying in Washington County containing forty and one half acres. beginning at stake in Neffs line--line of land of Martin Hagey and Salley his wife to stake in land of heirs of Polly Hooser deceased. Being same piece allotted said Esther Bridges as her portion of the land of her father James Anderson, Senr. deceased--division of land wherein James A Bryant is complaint and said Martin Hagey and Sally his wife, John A. Bridges and Ester his wife and the Hiers of Polly Hooser deceased are defendants.

David BRIDGES b.c. 1792, Loudoun County, Virginia. settled Wilson County probably c. 1814, bought land near Gladesville. Some of his descendants moved to Henry/Weakley/Madison Counties, Tennessee. Children include William, John, James, Mary (Goodman), Julia (Hardy) and probably others. Alexander Bridges who later moved to Wilson County was his brother. David's wife Nancy HUMMER who he married in Virginia was the sister of Isaac CARVER's wife Mary. Charles Tiler JENKINS, b.c. 1784 Fairfax County, Virgiana. brought his children to Cairo area c. 1830: Lellon, Mason, Charles Tiler, Henry and Nancy. All but Henry stayed in Wilson County when their father moved back to Virginia in 1846.
