I'm am mainly looking for information on my great grandmothers family.(My mom's dad's mother) Her name was Hattie MCGUIRE, b. Dec. 16, 1888 in either Tenn. or Ky. m. Robert POWERS, Oct. 5, 1906 in Wise, Va., d. Sep. 15, 1966. Hattie was an illegitimate child of Emma MCGUIRE, b. Jan. 1871 in Tenn., but not sure., d. ? buried in Coeburn, Va. Hattie used to say that she had an Aunt Nan CODY that was kin to Buffalo Bill CODY. We think they may have come from the Jacksboro, Tenn. area, but we're not sure. William MAGUIRE m. to Ann (?), had a son Alexander MAGUIRE born 29 April 1808 in Magherlin, County down, Ireland. Alexander m. Jane HILL; two of their children were Henry MAGUIRE, b. 21 Dec 1844, in Dromore Parish, County Down, Ireland, and Thomas MAGUIRE. Thomas died on 6 Apr 1913 in Butte, Montana, USA. He was hit by a train while getting off another. Henry m. Catherine MCDADE in 1865 in Scotland. She was born October, 1847, the daughter of James MCDADE. She died 1 May 1926 in Butte, Montana. Heny and Catherine had the following children: Patrick Michael born 23 Aug 1868 in Scotsbrig, Lanarkshire, Scotland, James MAGUIRE, Mary MAGUIRE, Thomas MAGUIRE, Bernard MAGUIRE, Mrs. Paul (MAGUIRE) MURPHY, Mrs. John (MAGUIRE) Whalen and Mrs. William (MAGUIRE) GOOD. My Grandfather Patrick Michael MAGUIRE said after coming to the US the name had been changed to MCGUIRE. I have found it both ways in obituaries. At this point, the MCGUIRE became the spelling. Patrick Michael MCGUIRE married Sarah Margaret MCGURK b. 23 Nov 1878 in Bradewood, Illinois to John MCGURK and Margaret FARN (FARREN, FAHREN) MCGURK. They were married 28 Jan 1893 in the Oklahoma Territory. Patrick died 28 May 1949 and Sarah died 4 Oct 1943, both in Missoula, Montana. They had the following children: Patrick Stephen MCGUIRE b. 1894 Oklahoma Territory, Marjorie MCGUIRE TRIPP HOGG d. in Livingston, Montana, Theresa MCGUIRE RILEY, Ellen MCGUIRE FINLAYSON, and Catherine Margaret MCGUIRE GERHARDT.

I am trying to make a connection to Scotland/Ireland about David Hoyle MCDANIEL Sr. also Iwould like to know about a Thomas MCDANIEL whose children were Nancy b 3-16-1796,Elizabeth b11-16-1799, and John b2-10-1797. John married Polly SHUMATE in 1812. These children are listed as born in Patrick co VA. Thomas was married to Celia TUGGLE in1793. My great grandfather was David Hoyle MCDANIEL JR. and married Barbara COBB. I know the MCDANIELS settled in Monongalia & Harrison cty W Va in late 1700s. Looking for info on a James William MINAHAN born in 1859 or 1860. He had an older brother John, born in England about 1856. Their sister Eleanor was born in South Africa about 1862. We believe their father died in South Africa and their mother returned to England. We do not know the name of the mother for sure, but believe it may have been Ann TRANTOR. James Wm MINAHAN married Louisa VALE on Oct 31, 1881 in Birmingham, England and had at least one son named Francis John. James Wm MINAHAN died April 13, 1901 in Birmingham, England.
