     Capt. John Corker lived in Jamestown where he patented 6 acres on James Island near Goose Hill in 1637. He was a Burgess in 1633 and 1645 and was Clerk 1645-53. In 1657 he patented 1,150 acres in Surry described as being on the south side of the James River and on the south side of the head of grey's Creek, called Ware Neck ...opposite the mill and over the swamp to Mr. Rolfe's line. He died in James City. His wife may have been Dorothea Bishop. His sons were William and John.

       His son, Capt. William Corker of Surry County, Virginia married Lucy ____, widow of Captain John White. William Corker was a Burgess at James City in 1641, 1655, and 1656. He was also a Captain of Militia. His nuncupative will, proved in Surry County on September 4, 1677, states that his estate was smalland mentions that the eldest daughter, Susanna Branch inherited, among other things, her own mother's watch. The will names his children: Susanna, wife of John Branch; Judith, wife of William Clay; and Lucy. He died at the home of his daughter Judith Clay, then a widow, in Isle of Wight County in 1675\6.

       His daughter Lucy Corker , born in England about 1604, married Thomas Jordan .
