Negro woman and her child Sarah are to be set free. In order that this part
of my will may be
carried into effect, it is my wish that my executors apply to legislature
of state for an act
confirming the emancipation of said negroes by virtue of will. $1,000 to be
spent by executors in
manner the said Legislature may divert and appoint for use and benefit of
said negroes. The rest
and residue of estate bequeathed to mother, Phebe Scott, of Chesterfield
County, Virginia.
