Hopkins of same, for love & affection for son & $1, 110 acres by
supposition, on Flat Creek, r.orn~r to Jacob Cassity..to Francis
Hopkins Jre line...to J. McNab's line..down a drain to beginning..
it being fully understood that Francis Hopkins Sr. is to remain in
possession & occupancy of land during his life, & after his death,
should his wife Ann be longest liver, she is to have 1/3 of land
during her lifetime. On death of both, title is to be vested immed-
iately in name of David Hopkins; proved & recorded 4 Aug. 1823.
(Note that this date, 25 July 1823, was when Francis Hopkins made his
will; note also the survey sketch accompanying his will, showing the
entire tract - also the 1/3 for widow Ann upon which was dwelling
house.)
Book E -
p. 57 19 July 1824, Henry Hopkins & w. Sarah of Bath Co. to Richard
Boyd of same, for *144, 18 a. on Prickley Ash; signed by Henry Hopkins.

p. 64 2 Aug. 1824, Ann Hopkins, widow & relict of Francis Hopkins,
Sr., to Francis Hopkins Jr., both of Bath Co. for $300, all her
right of dower to land on Flat Cr. where "David Hopkins & myself now
live"...this is to convey my part - 1/3 of whole tract of about 130 a.
Signed: Ann (x) Hopkins; wit. Joseph A. Hopkins, John McNab.
(My remark, I was quite upset by this move on Francis Jr.'s part to
obtain land specifically left to his brother David.. until next entry.)

p. 111 9 Nov. 1824, Francis Hopkins of Bath Co. to Ann Hopkins...
said Francis in consideration of his release from a contract hereto-
fore entered into with Ann Hopkins, widow of Francis
Hopkins, decd., regarding sale of her dower rights to him...he now
releases her from contract; signed Francis Hopkins; wit. Jos. A.
Hopkins, David Hopkins; recorded 13 Dec. 1824.
(So, at least at this time, the intent of the will of Francis Hopkins
Sr. seems to be in good standing.)

p. 241 1 June t825, John Mulberry & w. Betsy to Francis Hopkins,
both of Bath Co., for $450, 113 a. more or less, on main Licking
River, part of tract which said Hopkins now occupies and said John

These are some land records I abstracted on a recent visit to the KY

a lot of genealogical material about the VA Hopkins in particular.
