I Jas. M. Hopkins being of advanced age, but of sound & disposing mind and
memory and discretion do make and publish and declare this my last will and
testament, hereby revoking all other will or wills by me heretofore made.
Item 1st.  I desire & direct that all my just debts should be paid, should
I owe any at the time of my death, including expenses for a decent and
Christian-like burial for myself.
Item 2nd.  To my niece Alice Estep who now lives with me and has lived
with me so long, I give and bequeath all of my property both real and
personal of every kind, including notes, accounts and every species of
property that I may own at  time of my death in fee simple to be used and
disposed of by her as she may see proper and without any limitation
whatever.
Item 3rd.  I hereby constitute and appoint my said niece Alice Estep
executrix of this my last will and testament and I suggest to her that
should she need any legal counsel or assistance to call on C. S. Reid for
same.  Witness my had and seal, this 3rd day of March 1892. Jas. M.

names hereto in the presence of said testator at his special instance and
request, and in the presence of each other, he the said testator signing in
our presence also.

Campbell Court of Ordinary - June Term 1893.
The will of Jas. M. Hopkins being produced in open Court for probate by
the Executrix Alice Estep who has filed her petition to prove the same in
solemn form, and the witnesses to said will, R. C. Rhodes, J. T. Beckman
and C.  S. Reid having subscribed the following affidavit endorsed on said
will June term 1893 of Campbell Court of Ordinary commits open at this
regular term of the Court R.C. Rhodes, J. T. Beckman and C. S. Reid and
being duly sworn depose and say that they saw Jas. M. Hopkins sign and
publish the within as his last will and testament while of sound and
disposing, that they witnessed the same for him at his instance and
request, and in his presence and in the presence of each other, he signing
in their presence and the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day
it purports to have been executed.

Abstract
Lambeth Hopkins.  Last Will and Testament, date June 29, 1798, probated
in Jackson county, Oct. 4, 1798.  To wife Puellah, a life interest in
his plantation, gives to four youngest children, Samuel, Solomon, David,
and Joseph Hopkins.  Executors:  Wife, Jacob Aubery and Jacob
Blankston.  Witnesses:  Jacob Blankston, Jacob Aubery and Priscilla

Will of Wiley Hopkins

Campbell County}

In the name of God Amen, I Wiley Hopkins of said State and County, being
of advanced age, but of sound and disposing mind and memory;  Knowing that
I must soon depart this life, deems it right and proper both as respects my
family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with
which a kind providence has blessed me.  I do therefore make this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all others, by me heretofore made.
First - I devise and direct that my body be buried in a decent and
Christianlike manner, suitable to my circumstances and condition in life.
My soul, I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it.  As I hope for
salvation through the merits and atonement of the blessed Lord and Saviour,
Jesus Christ.
Secondly - I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without
delay if I have any at the time of my death, by my Executor hereinafter
named and appointed.
Thirdly - To my sons J. F. Hopkins, N. A. Hopkins, E. B. Hopkins, E. M.
Hopkins and H. M. Hopkins I have already given all I desire them to have
out of my estate.
Fourthly - I give bequeath and devise to my grand children viz. ;  the
lawful heirs of my son H. M. Hopkins, the south half of lot of land number
fifty six (56) in the eighth district of originally Coweta now Campbell
County, containing one hundred one and one fourth acres (101 1/4) more or
less;  (with the exception of my residence and five acres of land
surrounding it)  with all the rights, members, and appurtenances to the
said tract of land in any wise  belonging , free from all charge and
limitation whatever;  To their own proper use benefit and behoof forever;
with all power to dispose of the same by will or otherwise as they may deem
proper.
Fifthly - All the balance of my property both real and personal including
my residence with five (5) acres of land around it to be laid off  in such
shape as to embrace the garden, lots, and woodland enough for fire wood and
other purposes;  Shall after payment of my debts as directed in the second
article of this will vest in my wife Rebecca Hopkins during her widowhood,
this bequest is made to my said wife in lieu of her whole dower and at her
marriage or death as the case may be,  I desire and direct that the
residence and five acres around it rest in the lawful heirs of my son H. M.
Hopkins.
Sixthly -  I direct that the balance of my property at the marriage or
death of my wife Rebecca Hopkins be divided into six equal shares.  One
share of which I give, bequeath and devise to my daughter Martha Ann, wife
of Simeon Styles, if she be living at the time of my death, if she be dead
then I direct that the share given to her go to her heirs.  One share of
which I give, bequeath and devise, to the heirs of my deceased daughter
Mary;  who was the wife of John Styles.  One share of which I give,
bequeath, and devise to my daughter Eliza wife of Moses Duncan, if she be
living at the time of my  death, if she be dead then I direct that the
share given to her go to her heirs.  One share of which I give, bequeath,
and devise to my daughter Elizabeth wife of Peter Duncan, if she be living
at the time of  my death;  if she be dead then I direct that the share
given to her go to her heirs.  One share of which I give, bequeath, and
devise to my daughter Piety, wife of Wm. Gaddy, if she be living at the
time of my death, if she be dead, then I direct that the estate share given
to her go to her heirs.  One share of which I give bequeath, and devise to
my daughter Emma, wife of Spencer Plunkett;  If she be living at the time
of my death, if she be dead then I direct that the share given to her go to
her heirs.
Seventhy - I hereby constitute and appoint my son E. B. Hopkins Executor
of this my last will and testament.
Eightly - I direct that the property disposed of in the fifth and sixth
articles of this will (with the exception of the residence and five acres
around it) be divided in kind, or , sold and the proceeds of the sale
divided between the Legatees therein named, as may in the judgment of my
Executor be for the benefit of said Legatees and my estate.
This 30th day of August 1889 witness my hand and seal.

The will of Wiley  Hopkins being produced in open Court for probate by the
Executor, E. B. Hopkins who has filed his Petition to prove the same in
Solemn form and the witnesses to said will C. S. Reid, E. G. Duke & James
M. Hopkins, James M. Hopkins being dead, the other two witnesses having
subscribed the following affidavit endorsed on said will, May Term 1893
Campbell Court of Ordinary,  Came into open Court at this regular term of
the Court, C. S. Reid and E. G. Dukes & being sworn deposes & say that they
saw Wiley Hopkins sign & publish the within as his last will & testament
while of sound & disposing mind that they witnessed the same for him at his
request & in his presence & of each other, as did also James M. Hopkins
sign the same as a witness of his instance & request & in his presence; who
is now dead, and that the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day
it purports to have been executed.  Sworn to & subscribed before me in open
Court May 1, 1893.

I Martha Hopkins of the county of Harris and the state aforesaid being in a
feeble state of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory and taking
in to view the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do make and
ordain this my last will.

Item the 1st: After my burial expenses and debts if there be any, are paid,
the balance of my money and property I desire distributing in the following
manner to wit: I leave to my daughter Caroline Wheeler three negroes Sisor(?),
Dolly, and Arney(?) during her natural lifetime and three feather beds and
furniture. Which time said negroes are to be under the care of my two sons
John A. and William Hopkins. Also half of the lots of land in Randolph County
No.254, two hundred and fifty four in the tenth district and No.14 fourteen in
the nineteenth district originally Lee but now Randolph County also five
hundred dollars to purchase her a negro girl all of which and the increase if
any is to belong to her children at her death.

Item the 2nd: Desire the balance of my estate equally divided among my
children their names being to wit; Elizabeth Heard, John A.Hopkins, William
Hopkins, Bedford Hopkins, John B. Heard and Mary Heard and Frances Linch.

Item the 3rd: I appoint my beloved sons John A. and William Hopkins my
executers in witness where of I here unto set my hand and afix my seal this
the 13th day of May 1840.

Deed of gifts by Martha Hopkins to Bedford Hopkins and his children after his
death and under the control of his brother William Hopkins or his
representatives that is to say one eight part of my estate which might include
his part in my will.This is to certify that this is to include all other
claims that he may have against my estate by will or otherwise but not effect
my will in no other shape.
