The following photographs were taken during my visit in May 1999. The full size versions are in color, except for the Kaylor tombstone inscription. This version of the Battle Monument is a little deceiving. In order to get as much detail as possible I did not include any of its lower half, which forms the massive base of the monument.

Well worth the vist. Gary also maintains the Ruppert Family History & Genealogy site detailing the story of Joseph Ruppert who immigrated to Baltimore around 1837.
