To all
who have found their way here,
welcome,
and I do hope we share some ancestors.
The work on these pages
is not mine alone.
I owe a lot of thanks
to my sister-in-law Olivia
and my daughter, Georgina
who did most of the work on our
Powell's and Dabney's.
They also got me addicted,
so they are definitely responsible for what
I have added to their efforts.
Fortunately
Olivia found some living relatives
who have great family records
- every genealogists dream!!!
Georgina
had a great knack for writing letters
- and getting answers that told us a lot.
My niece Mary Ellen
and I tackled my tree.
She has also done lots of research
for me on my husband's line,
and so has my heartfelt thanks.
We still have lots of brick walls,
and are still searching,
so I plan updating when I can.
My sources are poorly reported
- that is mainly
my inexperience and oversight.
Suffice to say I do have certificates,
newspaper reports, family memorabilia,
census data
to support a good deal of my research.
Thanks to my Family
Treehouse*
pals who have often steered
me in the right direction for assistance,
and revived my spirits
when I needed it most.
Hope if you find glaring errors
in my trees you will e-mail me,
and would love to hear from
all who can find connections.
Maybe between us we can
destroy some more brick walls.
