Jens Christian Goskeson (Godskesen) was born in Jellan, Denmark, January 30, 1850, and was united in marriage there. In the year 1888 (May, 1889) the Goskeson family came to America and located at Albert Lea, MN, where he was engaged in farming, and here his wife passed away. He then sold and moved to Kanabec County, Comfort Township, and there also farmed.

On November 22, 1926, Mr. Goskeson moved into the village of Grasston, and was making his home with daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Nels O. Christensen, and here he passed away on Monday evening, December 13, 1926, at the age of 76, mourned by his four surviving children. They are: Mrs. Nels O. Christensen of Grassont; Mrs. J. F. Richeger of Princeton, MN; two sons, Lars C. Godskeson of Shelly, MN and Godske C. Godskeson of Albert Lea, MN; also six grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.

His wife and two children have gone before, the children passing away in Denmark (Laurits died in 1890 in Albert Lea, MN).

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, at 2:00 p.m. from the Grasston Lutheran Church, Rev. Ericson of the Brunswick and Grasston congregations will officiate. Interment will be made in the Grasston Lutheran cemetery.
