WAGONER--I am trying to find my great grandfather John WAGONER. It may be spelled WAGGONER or WAGNER. But my family says it should be WAGONER. I first find him on census in Anderson County (Palestine) Texas in 1870 and he states that he place of birth is Alabama. Living in the same household with him is a Mary and Newton Ricks who were also born in Alabama. John was born abt. 1826 and Mary was born abt 1849 and Newton was born abt. 1829. I do know that my grandmother (Johns daughter was born in Van Zandt County Texas on December 7, 1861 and she had some older siblings all born in Van Zandt County, Texas. Her mother died when she was born and she and two of her older sisters were raised by a man named Jonathan Weaver and his wife. John Wagoner married again and had another family and I can find info on them but I can't find anything on him prior to 1870. I will be grateful for any information on my ggrandfather or his wife. I don't even know her name and can't find a death record. I am still looking for that information in Van Zandt County and maybe when I find that record I will have more information on John. Thank you so much for your offer of assistance. I am also closely tied to Alabama through my father Josh Robert Berryhill of the Winfield Alabama Berryhills. Jo Gottman, [email protected]

WESTON-- I am searching for my ggg grandfather. His wife was Elizabeth Julia WESTON. He had children Moses Riley WESTON born 1826 accrding to army register, Jasper Newton Weston circa 1828-30 and Nephanny Weston circa 1833. They were later in Blount county. Elizabeth Julia was on the Marshall county census 1840 with her children. This means my mystery grandfather probably died between 1830 and 1840. Elizabeth Julia Weston operated mills in the Big Spring Valley area of Marshall county near Guntersville, AL. She had court records in Marshall county building a dam for her mill and guaranteeing it would be no health hazard to the area. THis was 1842. She may have had a daughter Lydia from a previous marriage to the Weston. Possibly Lydia Hodge. She later married Calvin Tidwell lived in Blount County, AL and later after 1860 moved to Texas. Jasper Newton WEston stayed and died in Blount county. Nephanny Weston also stayed married John Butler and died in Blount county ! ,Al. I can find no information between 1830 aand 1840 to tie me to this Weston. 1830 alabama census show a Thomas WESton in Jackson county, Reuben Weston, Conecuh county, and Alfred Weston, Madison county. Does anyone have information on these?? Alfred Weston married a Elizabeth Polls (Poffs or Poss) in Mississippi Territorial marriages in 1818 but I have no proof this ties to Elizabeth Julia Weston who was rumored to be a Hodge from Va. Woulard had several white children by his white wife and also story goes he had several black children by his mistress. The last white Woulard in State Line was Benjamin Woulard bor 1842, fought in the Civil War. He has two markers in State Line Cemeteries..He was with the HQ 36th Co. Mississippi. He died he 1924 and the obit read he and his wife were buried in State Line, near where he lived. Yet, the people still say there were no white Woulards in State Line or Woulard's Bend, Mississippi. We have deeds and records where thy owned land and family stories of the home on the plantation. Benjamin Woulard the son....was even mentioned in the James Copeland Outlaw book as being the Det.
