HICKMAN, Harmon, b. abt. 1795, NC, d. 1884, Pike Co., AL, m. ____ Benton. Son, Henry David HICKMAN, (1859-1928). Harmon HICKMAN fought in the war of 1812. He left NC, after 1823, and there is some evidence that he settled in SC for a short time, then moved to Wilkinson Co., GA, before 1828. He moved to Pike Co., AL, in 1845. HIGGINS--My great-greatgradfather's name is Simeon Tucker Higgins born 12-31-1861 in Five Points Ala. died 5-12-1927. Married to Anna Jane Germany born 11-28-1866 in Five Points Ala. and died 1953. They were married 11-24-1886. Their children were: George Edward (my grandfather), William Clopton, Brooks, Mary Ethel, Thomas, Jessie Homer, Robert Cecil and Mattie Ruth. Simeon's father was Simeon Grier Higgins (DOB 1833?)and mother Henretta Whatley.Anna Germany's parents were Robert C. Germany (DOB 5-1-1837) (DOD 11-26-1911) and Samantha Lou Brooks (DOB 12-9-1840) (DOD 12-1-1928) they were married December 1857. HIGGINS: Robert W. HIGGINS married Mary TYSON, b. 1816-1820. Although no marriage record has been found, they were listed as heirs of her father Mason TYSON in a Jan. 1847 probate record: "Robert W. Higgins and Mary his wife, reside without the limits of Alabama." I have not found them on an 1850 Census. Any info. about Robert W. HIGGINS, his ancestors and or children would be appreciated. My aunt Pearl Oslean Hodges b Dec16, 1920 daughter of Arther Bell Hodges Sr.,and grandaughter of James Sr., remembers him living with her family and him being in a wheelchair from a horse ridding accident. She thinks they lived in the Charleston, Mississippi Co., MO area when he died. No one remembers where he's burried. Mattie Morefield is burried in the New Hope Cememtery on the outer rd off I55 in Marston, New Madrid Co., MO. HOFFMANN-- My great grandfather Dr. Joseph Henry Hoffmann retired in Gadston on a farm in East Gadston 1916. He had two brothers C. F. Hoffmann and J. J. Hoffmann that were citizens of Gadston. Holland, Charles Sherwood. b.S.C. ca1794. Father and mother was Jacob and Sara Holland. Jacob was a Rev. War soldier who died in Green co. Ala. in 1852. (have all info on him). Charles Sherwood Holland served with Andrew Jackson at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in Tallapoosa 1812. Charles Sherwood Holland married my ancestor Elizabeth Smith ca1816, where I do not know. Charles Sherwood Holland was sheriff of Jackson county Mississippi in 1828 and legislator in ca1841-43. He migrated to Hardin county Texas in ca1847. He is enumerated on the the 1850 census of that county with his children who were all born in Mississippi. Elizabeth is dead before the census was taken in Hardin in 1850. HOLLIS: I am looking for any information on Anna HOLLIS of Cleburne County, AL. She married George Washington HAYNES in Cleburne Co. in Oct 1883. I have been unable to locate info on her family. It is known that they are the HOLLIS family in which Hollis Crossroads gets its name. It is known that they are buried at Chulafinee Methodist Church cemetary.
