45th AL Infantry, CSA---I am seeking biographical information on the men who served in the 45th AL Infantry, CSA, which was formed in Auburn, AL in May 1862. They were recruited from the counties of Barbour, Lowndes, Macon, and Russell. They fought with the Army of Tennessee from the Battle of Perryville, KY through the Atlanta Campaign and at Franklin and surrendered at Greensboro, NC with Gen. Joseph Johnston in May 1865. Aaron Walker---Charles Edward WALKER b. 29 Jan 1894 in Walker County, AL. He married Liddy Mae AARON on 16 Nov 1916. There is a story about Liddy Mae's father that might help in my research. CLIFTON-PIKE-STRICKLAND-JAMES---I am looking for information on NAOMIA PIKE, who first married JOSEPH CLIFTON around 1898-99; Joe Clifton was a train engineer and was killed in a train wreck shortly after their only child was born in Dec. 1899, HOMER CLIFTON. A few years later, NAOMIA PIKE CLIFTON married a Mr. STRICKLAND, and they adoped a boy named CECIL STRICKLAND (who later married a girl named GRACE). Nathan and Mary where married 5/1/1849 , by doing math you will find Nathan was 59 yrs of age and Mary was 44yrs of age. It is believed that Samantha was an only child and arrived in the U.S. from England when she was between the ages of 5 and 7. It is believed that Kincheon was from Livingston, AL.
