Griffin---I am trying to find the family of William P. Griffin, Born in Ala. on July 8, 1831. He had a brother Isaac W. Griffin, Born in Ala. on Nov 2, 1825. I suspect there was more in the family. I have heard that the father might be Andrew J Griffin, but not proven. They came up thru Tenn and then to Southern, Illinois, Pope County in the early 1850s. In the census of Pope County in 1860 a widow was picked up by the name of Hester A. age 65. This could be the mother, not proven. She disappears in 1870 census. William P and his Wife is buried in the Griffin Cemetery in Pope County, Isaac along with his wife is buried in the Warren Cemeter, same county.
