Stokes, Brye, Freeeny, Freeney---My grandfather, James Stokes, An African-American was born in Elmore Alabama on 2/15/85. I was told he had many brothers. But he left them, and did not make contact with them again. He married a woman by the name of Mollie, or Margaret. They had 3 daughters: Lucille, Netter, and Mattie, and 3 boys: Willie Lee, L.C., and Wiley. James died in Pensacola, Florida in 1964. The first wife died, and he later married a woman by the name of Minnie Ruth. Minnie Ruth was born 5/12/87. She died in Pensacola, Florida 3/23/65. My father came to Florida, I think, in the 30's.
