This was copied from the microfilmed minutes of the Tiger Baptist Church available at the Greenville Public Library and also at Furman University. The Tiger Baptist Church is located in North Greenville County in South Carolina. The John Wilbanks mentioned is my gg-grandfather and Samuel Wilbanks is his oldest son, my g-grandfather. Sarah Wilbanks is Sarah E. Mayfield, the wife of John Wilbanks." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - THE HEAD OF TIGER BAPTIST CHURCH OF CHRIST Jan the 22nd 1881 Met in Conference after Service by the Rev. S.T. Dill. Open the door for the reception of members. Sister Misouria Turner presented a letter from Cross Plaines Church. After the readimg of said letter on motion She was received into the fellowship of the Church. John Wilbanks, Samuel Wilbanks, Sarah Wilbanks, Mary E. Wilbanks, Texanna Wilbanks, Elizabeth Wilbanks presented letters from Reedy Church. After hearing the reading of Said letters, on motion they were received into the fellowship of the Church. Saturday March 23rd 1884 Met at Tigerville Acadamy. Sermon by Rev. T.J. Earl. Met in Conference. 1st Read and adopted the minutes of last Conference. 2nd On motion a letter of dismission was granted to Sister Tex A. Willbanks now Howard. 3rd After the usual benediction adjourned. Saturday May the 23rd, 1885 Met in Conference after Service By Rev. S.T. Dill open the door of the for the reception of members none came forward. 1st Read and adopted the minutes of last conference. 2nd On motion Letters of dismission was granted to R.B. Fowler & wife Stora Samuel Wilbanks and wife John Wilbanks and wife Mary E. Brown Felitha Dickey and D.B. Jackson. 3rd On motion after the usual benediction adjourned. Saturday June the 23rd 1885 Met in Conference after Service by Rev. S.T. Dill Open the door for the reception of members none came forward. 1st Read and adopted the minutes of last conference 2nd On motion Recommended the the granting of granting a letter of dismission to Mary E. Wilbanks now Brown on last Conference as she is not living with her husband a motion made to appoint a committy to investigate the matter motion lost.
