“The Great State of Texas”

GREETINGS TO ALL MY RELATIONS & THANK YOU!

Early Musselman’s appear to originate in Switzerland with the common name of Mosiman. As they migrated we find  the name Mosselman is common. In Germany the name Musselman was common which seems to have carried over to the America’s.  All migration for these relations to America appear to be connected with initial immigration to Pennsylvania.

My branch of Musselman’s stems from Christian Musselman born circa 1783, probably Baden/Wurttemberg & Elizabeth Funfrock.  They moved from West Hempfield, Lancaster co., Pennsylvania to Clarke co., Ohio and Wabash co., Indiana by 1850. In 1880 they are in Greene co., Newberry, Indiana and through an excursion train in 1903-1908 my line moves into Texas. Another Musselman Uncle ties us to Henry Mussleman and the Ironmasters of Pennsylvania.

My ancestor Johannes Funfrock was born in Lorraine, France about 1530-1535.  He was a Latin professor at Tubingen University, Wurttemberg, Germany and of Lutheran faith.

My cousin Myron Martin & I have spent over 30 years working on our collateral history.  He descends from the Mennonite David Martin 1691-1784 who came to America Sept., 30, 1727 on the ship, “Molly”. About the year 2000 we discovered the family we had both been searching for was one and the same.
