VALVENA ELMER

            ARPIN -- Valvena Elmer, 86, of 6322 Pine Road, Arpin, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at her home.

            Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Arpin. The Rev. Joseph Leman will officiate. Burial will be in Arpin Cemetery.

            Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday, at the Church. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, is in charge of arrangements.

            Valvena Elmer was born Feb. 25, 1899 in Arpin, a daughter of Nick and Rachel (Elmer) Elmer. She attended the Powers Bluff Grade School. She was employed in child care and housekeeping. She never married.

            Surviving are five sisters, Luella, Gertrude, Viola and Irene Elmer, all of Arpin, and Tillie Elmer, Milwaukie.

            She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Jacob.
