MRS. NICK ELMER
Mrs. Nick Elmer, 90, Arpin, died of complications early
this morning at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at
the United Church of Christ at Arpin. The Rev. Paul Schippel will officiate,
and burial will be made in the Arpin cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home from Sunday
evening until noon Tuesday, and then at the church.
The former Rachel Elmer was born May 4, 1873 in Switzerland,
and at the age of 11 years, she came with her parents to Monroe, Wis. She
received her education in Switzerland and Monroe. Her marriage to Nick Elmer,
who preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1945, took place in February of 1895 at
Monroe. After their marriage, the couple came to Arpin, where they had farmed
and lived ever since.
Mrs. Elmer was a member of the United Church of Christ
at Arpin.
She is survived by six daughters, Miss Bena Elmer, Miss
Gertrude Elmer, Miss Viola Elmer, and Miss Irene Elmer, Arpin; Miss Luella
Elmer, Wisconsin Rapids; and Miss Barbara Elmer, Milwaukie; and a son, Jake
Elmer, Arpin.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four
brothers.
