RICHARD UPTON

     Richard Dale Upton died in September 25, 1996, at his home in High Prairie, at the age of 53.
     Mr. Upton was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Gridley, Calif., to Lettie Mae (Martin) and Hugo Belmont Upton. He spent his young life in Gridley, moving to Blodgett, Ore., in his young teens. He married Donna Settles in January 1965 and they lived in Blodgett, where he worked various jobs in that area. He moved to Klickitat County in 1979, eventually buying acreage in the High Prairie area. He was a member of Laborers Union Local #335. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his tractor. He most of his time working on his property.
     Mr. Upton is survived by his wife, Donna, High Prairie; daughters, Melinda and Randall Robison, Appleton, and Wendy Upton, Underwood; sons Richard and Kelli Upton, Appleton, and Randy Upton, Dallesport; brother Bill Upton, Oroville, Calif.; sisters Evelyn Newell, Blodgett, Ore., and Juanita Whitlock, Philomath, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren.
     Graveside services for Mr. Upton were held Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Lone Pine Cemetery in High Prairie, with Pastor Les Haarstad officiating.
     Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

     Richard Dale Uptonn 53, of High Prairie, passed away at home, Sept. 25, 1996.
     He was born Nov. 23, 1942 in Gridley, Calif., to Lettie Mae (Martin) and Hugo Belmont Upton. Richard spent his young life in Gridley, Calif. and moved to Bodgett, Ore., as a young teen. He married Donna Settles, January 1965 and they lived in Bodgett, where he worked various jobs in that area. Richard and Donna moved to Klickitat County in 1979, eventually buying acreage in the High Prairie area.
     He was a member of Laborers Union Local #335. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his tractor. Most of his time was spent working on his property.
     He is survived by his wife, Donna, of High Prairie; daughters, Melinda and husband Randall, of Appleton, Wendy Upton of Underwood; Sons Richard & wife Kelli Upton of Appleton; Randy Upton of Dallesport; brother, Bill Upton of Oroville, Calif.; sisters, Evelyn Newell of Blodgett, Ore., Juanita Whitlock, of Philomath, Ore.; and ten grandchildren.
     Graveside services were held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Lone Pine Cemetery, High Prairie, Pastor Les Haarstad officiating. Arrnagements were made by Gardner Funeral Home.
