ROBERT D. SMITH

Robert Donald Smith of Appleton died Aug. 1 at Goldendale. He was 84.
Mr. Smith was born on Feb. 11, 1908 in The Dalles to Katherine M. (Cochran) and Howard K. Smith. He lived near The Dalles growing up and moved to Florida before entering the service. He lived in New York after discharge and worked as a bartender. He moved to this area in 1985 to be near his family.
He is survived by his brother, Arthur J. Smith of Appleton; sister, Olive Rash of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Gertrude Carr of Cleveland, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews.
