ORSON D. GREEN
Orson Dewey Green, 78, Rt. 3, Brodhead, died Thursday,
Nov. 18 at 11 p.m. in his home in Avon Township.
Born in Avon Township, Rock County, on May 22, 1896,
he was the son of Oscar and Gertrude Barr Green. He was married to Kathryn
Elmer on May 15, 1916, in Rockford, Ill. They lived all but two years in
Avon Township. He was employed as a machinist for Industrial Machine
Mfg.
Surviving are his wife; a foster son, Richard Rogers,
and two grandsons.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by his parents and a
brother, Dell.
He was a member of the Avon Community Church.
Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Emerson Funeral
Home, Brodhead, with Rev. James Erickson of the Avon Church officiating.
Mrs. Bruce Timm sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Sometime We'll Understand"
accompanied by organist, Mrs. Merritt T. Milks. Pallbearers were: Arthur
Christensen, Harry Gardner, Clayton Gilbert, Maurice Foslin, Ronald McKee
and Duane Schilling.
Burial was in Avon Cemetery.
