NICK ELMER, ARPIN, DIES ON WEDNESDAY

Long Illness Fatal to Man Who Lived in Community 49 Years

 

            Arpin -- Nick Elmer, 70, a resident of the Arpin community for the past 49 years, died at his home half a mile south of here late last night. He had been suffering for several years with diabetes and a heart ailment.

            Funeral rites have been tentatively set for Saturday, at the Elmer home at 1:30 p.m., and at St. John's Evangelical Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. George Ronicke will officiate and burial will take place in the Arpin cemetery.

            Mr. Elmer, who was engaged in farming during his entire period of residence here, is survived by his wife and seven children; Balvina, Jacob,and Viola, at home; Luella, Wisconsin Rapids; Gertrude, Arpin; Tillie, Milwaukie; and Irene, New Lisbon.

            He also leaves four sisters; Miss Fannie Elmer. Mrs. Lee Germann, and Mrs Herman Rezec, Monroe; and Mrs. Irving Kroscher, Milwaukie. A brother, Jacob Elmer of Arpin, died last summer.
