NADA MCMURRIN

            Nada Dorris McMurrin (Clark) 88, passed away April 16, 2011.
            Nada was born in Goldendale on Dec. 16, 1922, and passed away at her home in High Prairie.
            She lived most all of her life in the state of Washington -- High Prairie, Appleton and Lyle. Nada was born to Roy and Lois Clark the second of four children.
            On Oct. 16, 1945, Nada married Robert. They had four children -- Kathryn, Doris, Eugene and Tim.
            She was very involved in her community from the Lyle Lions Club to the United Methodist Church. Nada received the Melvin Jones award from the Lions Club. She was also on the Lyle City Council at one time and a member of Klickitat County Retired Teachers.
            She loved dogs but her favorite of all time, was the dog Snowball who was with her when she lived on the Klickitat River.
            Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening (especially flowers) fishing, playing pinochle, and reading. She loved learning everything she could about family history.
            Nada graduated from Lyle High School then went on to Central Washington College of Education in Ellensburg to become a teacher. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She taught first and second grade for many years and enjoyed every one of them.
            Nada was a very "Happy Go Lucky" person and had no problem going along with the flow.
            Nada is survived by her son Tim and his wife, Jodi. Her two sons-in-law Robert Graeme and Melvin Niemela. Seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
            She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her two daughters Kathryn and Doris and her son Eugene.
            Memorial contributions may be donated to the Lyle Lions Club.
            A memorial service to celebrate Nada McMurrin's life will be held on April 30, 2011, 11 a.m. at the Lyle High School gymnasium, 625 Keasey Ave., Lyle, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Appleton.
            Arrangements are under the care of Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon.
