SERVICES FOR MAURICE JORDAN HELD MARCH 13

            Funeral services for Maurice A. Jordan who died at the family home in Appleton on March 10, were held on Friday, March 13th at 1 p.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home here. Burial was at Appleton in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
            Maurice Jordan was born Sept. 24, 1907 at Whittier, California. Surviving are his wife Hazel of Appleton, 1 daughter; 4 sons, Phill and Benjamin of Vancouver; Maurice Duane of Anaheim, California and Edward of Appleton; 3 sisters: Edith Richardson of Milwaukie, Oregon; Joe Nixon of Salem and Thel McAdary of Memphis; plus four brothers: Stanley of San Mateo, Fred of Grants Pass; Robert of Placerville, California; and Neil of Newport, Oregon; plus 13 grandchildren.
            Pastor Starr of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiated.
            Mr. Jordan moved to Appleton in 1967. He was married on March 20, 1930 to Hazel Heckendorf in Jackson County, Oregon. He was the former caretaker of Hilcrest Memorial Park from 1933 to 1942 and moved to Ridgefield where he remained until 1967.

APPLETON

            Appleton residents were shocked and saddened by the passing of Maurice Jordan last Tuesday evening. He and Julius Demeter had been checking the phone line and Maurice was talking to the lineman at the Lyle exchange hut when he was stricken. Mrs. Jordan asked the lineman to call for the ambulance so he was the one who gave her fast assistance. She was truly grateful and wants him to know how thankful she was for his help. Many in Appleton were able to attend the funeral Friday at Gardner Funeral Home. Don Milberger, Ray Shurtz, Julius Demeter, William Wesselius, Joe Smith and Phillip Tuthill were the casket bearers. Relatives and friends from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Neil Jordan, Newport, OR; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Richardson and Dwight Jr., Milwaukee, OR; Mr. and Mrs. Phil Jordan and, children, Vancouver; Mrs. Pat Allen and children, Ridgefield; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Jordan and family, Alaska; Bob Wiseman, Yreka, Cal; Mrs. Bill Cleaver and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jordan and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jordan, Grants Pass, OR; Don Jordan, Eureka, Cal. Duane Jordan is staying with his mother for the week.
