MISSOURI BOY KILLED

            LYLE, Wash., June 21. – (Special) – Lee Putnam, killed at The Dalles by being struck by a rock, and buried at Hartland, near here, was born in Missouri in 1879.  He came to Hartland 25 years ago.  He enlisted in Company H. of the First Washington, and served through the Philippine campaign.  He carried a bullet-wound from this.  His father is Judge J. R. Putnam, of Goldendale, and he leaves, besides his father, two brothers in Ellensburg. J. J. and Ernest, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Berry, of Ellensburg, and Miss Pearl Putnam, of Goldendale.
