MRS. McCOY DIES

            Funeral services for Lillian May McCoy, 89, who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen (Naomi) Charlton in the Fairview District, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in The Dalles, Ore.
            The services will be at Spencer and Libby Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hartland Cemetery near Lyle, Wash.
            Mrs. McCoy had resided alternately the past seven years with Mrs. Charlton and another daughter, Mrs. D. W. (Dora) Courter in Redding, Calif.
            Born Oct. 28, 1877 at Ballston, Ore., Mrs. McCoy was married to Joseph McCoy on Jan. 28, 1895 at The Dalles. The couple ranched at Lyle, Wash. from 1904 until 1948 except for 10 years spent in Portland, Ore. Mr. McCoy died in 1948. Mrs. McCoy remained at the family ranch a year following his death.
            In addition to her daughters, she is survived by three sons, Ernest, Portland, Joe, White Salmon and Willis, Yakima; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Deardorff, The Dalles, and Mrs. Earl Hutchinson, Whittier, Calif.; a brother, Clarence A. Phipps, Pasco; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

LILLIAN McCOY

            Mrs. Joseph H. (Lillian) McCoy was born October 28, 1877 at Ballston. Ore., and died April 8, 1967, at the home of her daughter, Naomi Charlton, in Ellensburg at the age of 89 years.
            She spent the early part of her life in the Center Ridge area of Wasco County. On January 28, 1895, she was united in marriage to Joseph McCoy in The Dalles and spent a number of years on High Prairie and at Lyle with her rancher husband.
            She is survived by three sons. Ernest of Portland, Joseph of White Salmon and Willis of Yakima: two daughters, Naomi Charlton of Ellensburg and Dora Courter of Redding. Calif., a brother, Clarence Phipps of Pasco; two sisters, Wanda Hutchinson of Whittier, Calif., and Blanche Deardorff of The Dalles; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Wilbur, and a daughter, Frances Rainey.
            Funeral arrangements were in charge of Spencer and Libby in The Dalles. Interment was at the Hartland Cemetery.

HIGH PRAIRIE PIONEER PASSES

            Lillian McCoy died Saturday, April '8, in Ellensburg, Wash. Funeral services were held Tuesday in The Dalles, with burial in the Hartland Cemetery. Casket-bearers were grandsons and great-grandsons: Bobby Dick McCoy, Ross McCoy, Larry Charleston, Gary McCoy, Wilbur Ranney and Adrian Phipps.
            Mrs. McCoy was born Oct. 28, 1877 at Dallas, Ore. She was married Jan. 28, 1895 in The Dalles to Joseph McCoy who preceded her, in death. They lived at Dufur, Oregon, moving to the High Prairie area in 1904. She moved to Lyle in 1940, then to The Dalles, until about 1962. Since then she has been with one or the other of her daughters. Survivors include sons, Joe McCoy of White Salmon, Ernest of Portland, Willis, of Yakima; daughters Dora Courter of Redding, Calif., and Naomi Charleston of Ellensburg, Wash.; four grand children, eight great-grand children, and one great-great-grandchild, two sisters and a brother.
