LETITIA TAYLOR

            Letitia E. Taylor, 87, of High Prairie passed away on March 4, 1996. She was born March 25, 1908, in Watts Valley, Calif. to Julie ([Hancock) and Henry Eversoll. Letitia grew up in California and graduated from Parlier High School in Fresno. She moved to Washington with her dad and brother where she met Benjamin H. Taylor. They married Dec.23, 1932 in Goldendale and lived in Hartland (High Prairie) where they farmed and raised their family. Letitia was a former 4-H leader, a member of Klickitat County Homemakers, and she had won many awards for her crocheting. She had crocheted outfits for all her grandchildren when they were born. She worked as a Precinct Committee chairman for many years, served on the Lyle School Board, Hartland Cemetery Board, and was the dispatcher for High Prairie Fire Dept for many years (her CB "handle" was "Peaches")
             Survivors include her husband, Ben Taylor of Lyle, son, Douglas Taylor of Lyle, daughter, Lorna Dove of Seattle, sisters, Alice Lanegan of Goldendale, and Abigail Pera of Fresno. Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive her.
             Funeral services were March 8, at Gardner Funeral Home of white Salmon. Committal was at the Lone Pine Cemetery of High Prairie.
