KIRSTY ANN LESLIE
Kirsty Ann "Mus Mus Ton" Leslie died Oct. 13, 2007 in Carson, after a fatal
motor vehicle accident. She was 19 years old.
Leslie, a member of the Yakima Nation, was born Oct. 5,
1988, at White Salmon, to Darren J. Leslie and Amadea R. (Durant) Leslie.
She was just beginning to start her adulthood life. The
day before her passing, she notified her family that she just got hired to work
for the Skamania Lodge as a buffet server. She was a loving, spontaneous,
beautiful young girl who loved spending the majority of her time caring for her
brothers and sisters of both her maternal and paternal families.
She enjoyed fishing along the Columbia River and the
Lyle falls, where she caught her first salmon off her father's scaffold. She
also enjoyed camping in the closed area of the Yakima Reservation, mostly at her
grandpa's camp at 25-mile Creek. It was there that she and her cousins made the
most of their memories. She also enjoyed spending her time with her friends from
Wishram and all along the Columbia River clear to Cooks, where she grew up.
She is survived by her parents, Darren and Amadea
(Durant) Leslie, White Swan; her siblings, Rasheena Lee and Jarren Day Leslie;
maternal grandparents Alice Durant of Toppenish and Leo Durant of Michigan;
paternal grandparents Ervin and Sylola Leslie of Wishram; all her aunts and
uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her graceful ways, her smile, her love for life, and
her spontaneous laughter that brightened everyone's day will greatly be missed
by all her family, friends and all who knew her. Her touch and her undying love
and affection will never be forgotten.
She was preceded into death by her sister, Theeda Marie
Leslie, and her paternal great grandparents.
Dressing services will take place on Tuesday Oct. 16,
2007, at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon at 1 p.m. She will then be
transported to the Lyle Longhouse for overnight services. On Wednesday, Oct. 17,
2007, at 6 a.m. she will depart from the longhouse to the Lyle Cemetery where
she will be laid to rest.
