JOHN CARLTON PARRISH
John Carlton Parrish, 16, Lyle, son of Carl G. and Donna Parrish,
High Prairie, died duly 5 as the result of a swimming accident at Horsethief
Lake.
John attended school at Lyle and was living with his parents at the
family home in High Prairie.
He is survived by his parents, three sisters -- Carla White of
Goldendale, Sherry Gregory of Lyle and Gwendolyn Cobb of LaGrande, Ore., three
brothers -- Ben of Portland, Paul (Hank) of Marysville, and Thomas S. of Redmond
and grandfather Roy Sander of Portland.
Funeral services were held July 12 at the Knosher Funeral Home in
Goldendale with the Rev. J.E. Trainor officiating. Pallbearers were Thomas S.,
Ben J. and Paul H. Parrish, Wilbur Johnson, Marvin Gregory and Bob Brashers.
Interment was in the Lone Pine Cemetery at Hartland.

BOY IS MISSING AND PRESUMED DROWNED
A 16-year-old Lyle youth was missing and presumed drowned July 6
after an apparent swimming accident July 5 at Horsethief Lake. John C.
Parrish,16, Lyle, disappeared while swimming with other young people at the park
about 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Divers sent to the lake, July 6 were unable to locate Parrish's
body. Parrish is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Parrish of Lyle. Diving
operations were expected to continue the search for' the missing youth.
