OBITUARY

Henry Stacker was born in Holstein, Germany, June 11, 1839.  There he grew to young manhood, and served as a soldier for four years under the Danish government.
On May 15, 1874, he was united in marriage to Magdalene Bartram, coming immediately to the United States, where he settled near Stockton, Calif.  There they lived for three years, when they moved to near Hillsboro, Ore.  Three years later they moved to Klickitat county, Washington, homesteading and improving the farm where he spent the balance of his life.
Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stacker -- two daughters and two sons.  Elsa of Carrolton, Ore., was born in California; Magdalene of Yakima, and Bodo, at home, were born in Oregon; and Fritz, who departed this life on Sept. 3, 1905, at the age of 22 years, was born in Washington.  His dear companion was taken from him on August 31, 1894, at the early age of 38 years.
Although an invalid for the past three and one–half years, he bore his suffering with great fortitude until the Grim Reaper saw fit to relieve him of all earthly suffering, and at 8:30 p.m., on November 22, 1923, called him to join his loved ones in death.
Mr. Stacker was 84 years, 6 months and 11 days of age, and leaves to mourn him two daughters, one son and two granddaughters.  Also a sister–in–law, Minna Wendt, who has lived at his home since one year after Mr. and Mrs. Stacker came to the United States.
Funeral services were conducted at the Hartland Baptist church, Monday, Nov. 26, at 11:30 a.m., conducted by M. L. Sanders, D. D., pastor of the Goldendale Methodist Episcopal church.  The remains were interred in the Lone Pine cemetery at Hartland.
