“Lyle News”

            H. Masten passed away at the home of Mrs. Orton December 28 and the funeral services were held in the Lyle church Monday afternoon with Rev. Reynolds of White Salmon officiating.  Mr. Masten had lived on his place near Lyle for the past ten years.  He was 83 years of age and the only surviving relative is a niece in the east.  He was buried in the Hartland cemetery with the Gardener Funeral home in charge.

HERBERT ARTHUR MASTIN

            Funeral services for Herbert Arthur Mastin of Lyle were held at the Lyle Methodist church with the Rev. J. W. Reynolds officiating at 2 P. M. last Monday.
            Mr. Mastin died at the home of Mrs. Hulda M. Horton on December 24 and was buried at the Hartland cemetery.
            Mr. Mastin was born in New York state August 13, 1868 and came to the Pacific coast in 1894 and worked for 14 years in the Wallapa Mill at Raymond, Wash.  He came to Lyle about 1930 where he ran a cherry orchard.
            He leaves to mourn his death his niece, Miss Harriet M. Smith of Manchester, N. H.
