GEORGE MCLEOD FUNERAL HELD ON WEDNESDAY
George Howard McLeod, a resident of Star Route 302, Lyle,
Washington, passed away at his home on July 11th at the age of 72 years. He was
born November 19th, 1896 at Dover, Prince Edward Island, Canada to Margaret and
Calvin McLeod.
He was united in marriage to Charlotte Burgess at Horsham, Sussex,
England on October 7, 1917. They had made their home between Lyle and Appleton,
Washington since 1923. He was a member of the Columbia Grange #87 of Lyle.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte of Lyle; three sons, all of Lyle,
William, Howard, and Gordon. There are two daughters: Etta Osina of Portland,
Oregon and Ella Shebley of Lyle. Also a sister, Blanche Hollingshurst of Murray
River, Prince Edward Island, Canada; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 16th, 11 a.m. at
Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon with Rev. Lovall Phillips of Lyle
officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Appleton,
Washington.
Casket bearers were: Jim Curl, Robert Wheeler, Donald Milberger,
Lotus Ewing, Frank Tuthill, F.L. Williams.
