FOOTE FUNERAL

 

            Services for Floyd W. Foote, 86, Route 2, Marshfield, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel, the Rev. Paul E. Nelson, interdenominational chaplain, will officiate.

            The body will lie in state at 2 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until service time at the chapel. Mr. Foote died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Convalescent Center where he had been a resident since January.

            Mr. Foote was born Aug. 2, 1891 in Westfield, and attended Westfield schools and Bethel Academy in Arpin where he and his family moved to a farm when he was a child.

            He married Mary Elmer June 21, 1915 and she died in March 1942. On April 13, 1954 she married Thelma E. Connor and she died in September 1971.

            In 1955 he moved to Route 2, Marshfield, and was employed by Rodis Plywood Corp, now Weyerhaeuser Co., retiring in 1963.

            Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Melford (Margaret) Weber of Route 1, Arpin, Mrs. Carl (Helen) Nelson of Mountain Home, Ark., Mrs. Mildred Joiner of Milwaukie, Mrs. Olive Filip, Woodstock, Ill, and Mrs. Allen (Viola) Burt, Route 2, Marshfield; one son, John Foote, Route 2, Marshfield; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Abrams, Terre Haute, Ind., Mrs. Earl (Betty) Foote, Orient, ill., Mrs. Gale (Jeanette) Hunter, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,; two stepsons, Joseph DeSloover, South Bend, Ind., and Larry Schubert, Route 2, Marshfield; 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

            He was predeceased by one brother. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
