CHARLES LEE ATCHLEY

            Charles Lee Atchley of Klickitat passed away Sunday, May 15, 1994 at his home; he was 61.
            He was born on May 21, 1932 in Van Burien, Arkansas to James and Effie Atchley. He attended schools in Arkansas and served as a chief Boatsman in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
            Mr. Atchley married Sharon Schmer on July 25, 1959 in Ellensburg. In 1975 the couple moved to Klickitat where Mr. Atchley worked as a logger until poor health forced his retirement in 1982. He loved to hunt and fish.
            He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jimmy. Mr. Atchley is survived by his wife Sharon of Klickitat; his sons Dwayne and wife Diane of Klamath Falls, Jerry of Chicago, Phillip and wife Charlene of Klickitat, James and wife Anita of Klickitat, Nicholas and wife Sharon, Klickitat, and Quincy and wife Traci of Kent; his sisters Goldie Beebe and Jesse Austin of Moxee, and his mother Effie Atchley also of Moxee. He had 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
            Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 17 at the Appleton Cemetery.
            Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
            The Erdman Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
