CATHERINE RIGGLEMAN

     Catherine Francis Riggleman, a longtime White Salmon resident, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at the age of 71.
     Mrs. Riggleman was born in Sept. 27, 1927, in Mt. Jackson, Va., to Charles and Mamie (Boyce) Burkett. She grew up in the Va. She married Kenneth Riggleman in 1944 and the couple moved to Florida for two years. They followed the fruit crops to California, Washington and Oregon, finally buying an orchard in the White Salmon area in 1953. The couple started working the orchard in 1959 and it continues to be run by the couple's family.
     Mrs. Riggleman loved bingo, bowling and quilting. She collected bears and her house was full of them. She was a very good mother.
     Mrs. Riggleman is survived by her daughters Linda Flick, Front Royal Va., Marie Nash, Stockton, Calif., Ann Clark, White Salmon, and Pamela Mitchell, White Salmon; sons Kenneth Riggleman Jr., Modesto, Calif., Charles Riggleman, Hershey, Pa., and Ronald Riggleman, White Salmon; sisters Marcella Good, Woodstock, Va., Rosemary Nunley, Strasburg, Va., Pauline Burkett, Harrison, Va.; brother Robert Burkett, Fardale, Ky.; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1999.
     Services for Mrs. Riggleman were held Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at 10 a.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with pastor Jeff Austin officiating. Interment was at Gilmer Cemetery.
     Memorial may be made to Tall Elks.
     Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon.
