SYVERTSEN
Arne Skiold Syvertsen of Saratoga, California, born January
27, 1901 at Christiansen, Norway, passed away at the Friend, Oregon home
of his daughter Sept. 30.
He was a long-time former resident of Klickitat, and
a member of the Toledo, Oregon Lodge 124, AF&AM.
Mr. Syvertsen is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and
a son, Alfred, both of Saratoga; by a daughter, Dorothy Sethmann, of Friend;
by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Sethmann, of Friend, and a grandson, John Sethman,
of Hawaii; by a brother, Earl White, of Tacoma; and by one great grandchild.
Graveside services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Thursday,
Oct. 4) at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Appleton, with pastor Asa Kenson
officiating.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Shriners
Hospital for Crippled Children or the Heart Association, c/o Smith Calloway
Chapel, 311 Union Street, The Dalles 97058.

Arnie Skiold
Syvertsen, 83, a longtime resident of Saratoga, Calif., died at his daughter's
home in Friend on Sunday.
He was born January 27, 1901 at Christiansen, Norway.
He was a longtime member of the Toledo, Oregon, Lodge No. 124, AF &
AM.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth and a son, Alfred Syvertsen,
both of Saratoga; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sethman, Friend; a granddaughter,
Elisabeth Sethman, Friend; a grandson, John Sethman, Hawaii; a great-grandchild;
and a brother, Earl White, Tacoma, Wash.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill
Cemetery in Appleton, Wash., with Pastor Asa Jenson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children
or the Heart Association in care a Smith Callaway Chapel, The Dalles.
