APPLETON MAN DIES FROM RUNAWAY INJURIES
Alfred Pascal, 71-year-old Appleton, Wash., farmer, died
at the Dalles hospital last night from injuries from wounds suffered when
his team ran away in a field on the Pascal farm yesterday, tipping a heavy
wagon over in a ditch on top of the elderly man.
The team became frightened when some part of the equipment
or harness broke, it was learned from the hospital today. The deceased was
a native of France, born in Grenable, August 27, 1856. He came to the United
States a quarter of a century ago, and had been living at Appleton more than
21 years.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Irene Pascal, and a sister
and three brothers in California. Funeral arrangements will be made by
Callaway's, with the date for the services to be announced later.
