ANNA FOUSEL
Appleton resident Anna Fousel died in Portland, Ore.
on Feb. 10, 2004, at the age of 65.
She was born on Jan 16, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif.,
the daughter of John and Anna (Pavleoff) Shubin. Mrs. Fousel moved to Portland
in 1969 and lived there until 1981. She married Ed Fousel on May 16, 1981,
at which time she moved to Appleton, where she has made her home ever
since.
Mrs. Fousel was a Portland Housing Authority coordinator,
worked at Orchard View farms in The Dalles, and helped her husband with his
painting business for 23 years. She was also a first responder for Appleton
Fire Department for a year.
She loved her comfort and cooking fine foods, and also
enjoyed parties and social gatherings. She loved people, talking on the phone,
and e-mailing. People always felt comfortable around her; she was a great
encourager and impacted all she met. She loved the beach.
Mrs. Fousel attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship of
Hood River and was a woman who not only let her light shine for Jesus, but
was Proverbs 31 personified.
Mrs. Fousel is survived by her husband Ed, at home in
Appleton; daughter Christine Powell, The Dalles, Ore.; son Rick Adams, Portland;
sister Helen Tolmasoff, Lakeland, Calif.; grandchildren Heather Perez, Melodie
Long, and John and Allison Adams; and her "Pumpkin" great-grandson Jaedon.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers John, Bill and Harvey, and
sister May.
A funeral service for Mrs. Fousel was held Saturday,
Feb. 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Vineyard Christian Fellowship Hood River. Interment
was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Appleton.
Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon was entrusted with
arrangements.
