ACE FRANCIS BECK
Services for Ace Francis Beck, an active member of the
Lyle community and a former Appleton fire chief, were held Thursday, March
9, at Gardner Funeral Home. Rev. Les Haarstad was pastor.
Mr. Beck, 47, died March 1 of congestive heart failure
in Yuma, Ariz. Committal was held at the Appleton Cemetery in Appleton. Mr.
Beck was born July 4, 1941, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Mabel F. (Brumback) and
Arthur A. Beck. He came to Portland as a child and graduated from Grant High
School in 1960.
He married Karen Stutzman Aug. 17, 1963 in Portland,
and the couple moved to Appleton in 1975.
Mr. Beck worked as a electrician before his health forced
him to retire. He was spending the winter in Arizona. Mr. Beck also enjoyed
collecting stamps.
He is survived by his wife Karen of Lyle, children Leann
Beck and Rodney Beck, both of Portland, and sister Patricia Hunt of Prescott,
Ariz.
