NOW AT WORK ON TOURIST HOTEL
That plans are now well under way for a big tourist hotel
for Hood River and that this hotel will be built this summer is the reassuring
news brought here from Portland by C.I. Moody, who is now manager of the
sales department of Better Fruit, and who is here arranging for better publicity
for Hood River valley. He stated that Miss Marguerite Saloman, up the Portland
Chamber of Commerce, assured him early this week, that plans for financing
the project are about to be launched and without any question Hood River
will have a big tourist hotel this summer or early fall.
Confirmation of this was forthcoming on Thursday, when
a prominent local business man who has been closely associated with the project
stated that he had been informed from reliable sources that the committee
in Portland which is arranging the finances for the group of tourist hotels
which have been planned for Oregon, are now arranging the details for securing
funds for the Hood River project.
