KILL BILL FOR CASCADE COUNTY
A.M. Kelsay telegraphed Leslie Butler late Wednesday
afternoon that the Cascade county bill had been postponed indefinitely by
the senate, and that the Hood River delegation will be home in the morning.
Hood River has lost, but she has nothing to regret for
the noble fight she put up for the new county. Every dog has its day and
there will come a reckoning.
The following message was sent to Representative Jayne
to cheer him up after his hard fight. -- "Hon. A.A. Jayne, care of the House
of Representatives, Salem, Or. - The Commercial Club sends you hearty thanks
for your untiring efforts for Cascade county." Signed,
CHAD. T. EARLY, President.
